After School Programs
There are a range of programs and support measures to facilitate student learning and achievement at St Joseph’s College for students in Years 7 to 12. These include:
Period 9
Students have the opportunity to receive assistance from teachers after school. Regular sessions are conducted within a specific subject focussed framework. Supervision is based upon a roster of teachers that is organised for each specific year level. At times, students are able to arrange with an individual teacher to attend an after school tutorial in response to their own specific requirements.
There are also occasions when a student may be required to attend Period 9 sessions in order to complete work not submitted by the due date.
Students and families are encouraged to consult the Year Level Curriculum Leaders for more information regarding Period 9.
Homework Tuition Program
Homework Tuition Programs are conducted at the Occhiena Centre’s Valdocco and Brenock Park campus sites. Students work under the supervision of a learning tutor (school support officer) and receive assistance in completing class or homework tasks. Attendance is by enrolment and regular attendance is expected as a means of fostering the development of positive homework, study and organisational skills.
Valdocco Homework Tuition Program sessions are conducted each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until 4.00 p.m. Brenock Park Campus Homework Tuition Program sessions are conducted each Monday to Thursday until 4.00 p.m.
Enquiries regarding the Homework Tuition Program may be directed to the Learning Enhancement Coordinator.
Senior School tutorials (Years 10 – 12)

Mathematics tutorials are held each Monday afternoon under the supervision of Senior School Mathematics teachers. English tutorials are held each Tuesday afternoon under the supervision of Senior School English teachers. Enquiries may be directed to the Senior School Curriculum Leaders.
